Leavenworth Spring Bird Festival

May 16-18, 2008

The Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest provides educational and recreational activities focusing on birds, wildlife, and their environments. This annual event promotes the awareness of environmental and conservation issues surrounding the area's birds, while providing an economic and educational benefit to the community. This event connects with International Migratory Bird Day and includes a multi-cultural aspect linked to Latin American countries. The heart of the festival is to have fun through bird education with-and-for families, locals, and visitors, yet the event also has a scientific quality of gathering important birding data.

Cascade Golf Classic

Pancake breakfast, old fashioned races, bands, and a lumberjack show add to your enjoyment of this fun filled day. The Fourth of July celebration will be concurrent with Kinderfest in downtown Leavenworth; the park is just across Highway 2 from downtown, so families can easily enjoy both events.

Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival

September 26-28, 2008

Leavenworth is the Pacific Northwest's "Autumn Spectacular"! Come and see the beautiful colors and take part in one of our state's most celebrated festivals! A Grand Parade kicks of the festivities in style starting at  noon on Saturday! A family-fun event with entertainment, food booths, oom pah music in the streets and much more.

 

Oktoberfest   (3 weekends)

Each and every year Leavenworth proudly offers it's visitors a truly traditional Oktoberfest celebration. A great celebration of German food & beer, and dancing to live German music. You'll also find arts & crafts, a used Bavarian clothing sale, musical groups from Germany and the U.S., and a traditional Oktoberfest procession.

 

Christkindlmarkt

November 2008

Modeling itself after the open-air Christmas markets in Germany, the market presents the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional market. Entertainment, vendors' booths and a children's lantern parade. Fun for the entire family as Leavenworth kicks off an exciting Christmas Season.
 

Christmas Lighting Festival

1st, 2nd & 3rd weekends, 2008
Now expanded to Sundays!!!

Visitors come back year after year for this famous Leavenworth festival. Fridays the town is in darkness awaiting Saturday's festivities. The aroma of food booths and roasting chestnuts fills the air; holiday music from the gazebo encircles the village while youngsters sled in the park; holiday personalities stroll the streets; Santa, St. Nick and Father Christmas provide photo opportunities and sleigh rides are minutes away. At dusk everyone gathers to sing "Silent Night" and witness the lighting of the village as it is transformed into a magical wonderland of lights.
 

Starlight Lantern Parade

December, 2008

Make or buy your Bavarian lanterns and gather at the gazebo in Front Street Park at 6 p.m. and proceed to the Nazarene Church for the first performance of the Living Nativity. Free cookies and hot chocolate at the church.   INFORMATION: 509 548-5292

Ice Fest

January 2009

Winter play day for all ages with an invigorating grab bag of outdoor events, snow sculptures, great frisbee sweep, ice cube scramble, tug o'war, snow show challenge, smooshing contest, Washington dog sled pulling championship and fireworks over the village.
